Councillor Terry Adair
I moved to Treeton in 1985, although I had already been familiar with the village for many years beforehand.
My working life began at Fence Workshops, where I worked as an electrician and served as an NUM official until the site closed. I later moved into the Cooperative Insurance sector, where I qualified as a financial adviser and was also elected as a union official. In 2009, following the continued decline of the industry, I took early retirement.
Since retiring, I have taken the opportunity to become more actively involved in the community. I have served as a Parish Councillor for the past five years and am also the Company Secretary for the Rotherfed Charity.
At the most recent local elections, I was elected as a Ward Councillor for the Rother Vale ward on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. I remain committed to representing residents and supporting the community both at parish and borough level.
