Councillor Robert Croxton
I have lived in Treeton since 1999, although I had been visiting and walking in the area for over 20 years beforehand while living in nearby Aston.
My working life was spent in the steel fabrication industry. During the 1970s and 1980s I worked at Anderson Strathclyde PLC, manufacturing coal mining machinery. Following redundancy in 1990 due to the contraction of the coal mining industry, I joined RJD Fabrications, where I worked until retiring as a Team Leader in 2016.
Since the mid 1980s I have been actively involved in wildlife conservation work around Treeton, particularly at Catcliffe Flash. I have also carried out wildlife survey work on land owned by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council around the village.
With my experience in countryside management and local environmental work, I hope to contribute positively to the Parish Council and support the protection and improvement of Treeton’s natural spaces.
